 Most of us prefer to have a cup of tea of coffee as soon as we get up but believe me this is the unhealthiest thing that we can do. The way you start your day decides your health status. So whether you are looking for weight management or managing chronic diseases, it is very important to choose early morning drink smartly.



When we wake up in the morning, the acid level of the stomach is high and having a cup of tea/ coffee on an empty can make the condition worse. So here I am sharing 7 early morning drinks especially for winters that will help you to achieve your health goals and keep you warm…

1. Warm water with few drops of lemon juice - One glass of warm water and few drops of freshly squeezed lemon juice is all you need to refresh your morning. It helps to flush out toxins from the system, and stimulates the secretion of gastric juices. So, if who are looking for weight loss can start your day with a glass of warm water with few drops of lemon juice. You can add a pinch of rock salt for taste.


2. Ginger tea – This drink helps in relieving sore throat which is common health concern during winter. Since, our digestion slows down during winter, this tea also helps to aid digestive complaint during winter if taken after meals. To prepare this tea first, boil the water with ginger, strain it and let it cool for a while. After this add few drops of of lemon juice and enjoy the drink. You can add little rock salt and black pepper for taste.
3. Cinnamon water – Cinnamon has anti-diabetic properties and hence this drink is very effective for those who want to manage their blood sugar. It is also very simple to prepare this drink, all you need to do is boil a small cinnamon stick in water and drink it once it cools down. You can also use 1/4tsp of cinnamon powder instead of cinnamon stick. Cinnamon also helps to keep you warm in winter.
4. Hot mushroom tea – These days most of us have very low vitamin D status and mushrooms are the only vegetarian source of Vitamin D. To prepare this tea follow these steps:-

  • First of all chop mushrooms into a bite size pieces
  • Heat little ghee/ butter in a deep non stick pan, add mushrooms and cook it on slow flame for 4-5 min.
  • Add 1 glass of water, salt and pepper and cook it for 5-10 min and your mushroom tea is ready

5. Kadha –
If you want to boost your immunity, what better than Kadha. This kadha also helps to relieve cold, cough, fever and sore thorat. All you need to do is boil some ginger, tulsi leaves, black pepper and few giloy sticks to prepare this kadha. Spice it with rock salt and lemon juice.

6. Overnight soaked methi water – Methi has diuretic properties, anti-diabetic properties and helps in reducing cholesterol & triglycerides. It also helps to relive fever and body pain. A tea spoon of methi dana is enough to soak in a cup of water.




7. Carrot and beetroot juice – If you are looking for beautiful glowing skin, you can start your day with carrot and beetroot juice. As a source of nitrate, this juice also helps to reduce inflammation, detoxify liver, reduce blood pressure and strengthen blood vessels.
