Milk and milk products contain protein, vitamins and minerals which are essential for human health. Milk consumption has been associated with stronger bones.
Should we take milk or not?
These
days cow’s milk contains higher level of pesticides that they are taking
through their feed. These pesticides have negative impact on human health.
Pesticides can harm the nervous system, reproductive system and endocrine
system. Several studies have also found pesticides to be associated with cancer.
When
we drink cow’s milk we are also taking all the hormones present in it. Some of
the important hormones present in cow’s milk are prolactin, estrogen,
progesterone, corticoids and androgen which may cause hormone imbalance in
human being specially women. Cows have been selectively bred over time to
create high levels of these hormones to produce the greatest amount of milk. That’s
why Women who are suffering from PCOS or Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome may have higher
level of some of these hormones and consuming cow’s milk may worsen the
condition.
Higher
level of these hormones may also lead to breast cancer. So it is always recommended to take milk of grass fed cow.
Other sources of calcium
If you could not find milk of grass fed cow you must take calcium from other sources. Some of the
vegetarian sources of calcium are Green leafy Vegetables, Okra or ladyfinger,
Tofu, Orange, Seeds and chickpeas.

Alternatives of milk
If you are found of milk you can use soya milk, almond milk, coconut milk etc. to make tea, smoothies and other dishes.
