Tips to follow during Navratri fast

1. Say No to sugar - Sugar increases inflammation in our body. So if you want to detox avoid taking sugar. You can use stevia, dates or little jaggery if you have sweet taste.

2. Increase your fluid intake - The most important function of water is cleaning, so you can not detox properly if you are not taking enough fluid. You can have buttermilk or lassi, lemon water and orange juice with little rock salt or lassi. This will speed up your detox process.

3. Include Nuts - Nuts are packed with lots of nutrients and they are rich in protein and fiber too. So you must include 1 handful of nuts in your diet. Instead of regular milk, you can enjoy nutty milk also like almond milk and coconut milk.

4. Use desi ghee - Lots of people believe that fat is not good for health, but its not true. Fat gives us more energy for longer duration. They help to reduce inflammation and helps in the absorption of fat soluble vitamins like Vitamin A and D.  So you must include good fat in your diet like desi ghee to keep yourself energetic and satisfied for longer duration.

5. Follow proper meal timings - Fasting doesn't mean that you need to starve yourself. So neither overeat nor skip your meals. The best thing you can do is to have two complete meals in a day. Avoid unnecessary snacking and eating anything after 7 PM.
